Flares
This unit is first out on all structure fires in our district. It was designed to access the residents in our township that larger trucks cannot due to narrow driveways, snowy weather conditions, and/or small bridges. This truck provides incredible firefighting abilities for its small size. This truck combined with our 3000 gallon tanker provides a substantial knockdown ability for structural fires when using the foam (CAFS), for areas that lack a water source such as a pond, stream or fire hydrant. This unit also responds to vehicle fires, brush fires reported to be endangering structures, and landing zones for medical helicopters. This unit also responds to neighboring departments structure fires and mainly used at those incidents for overhaul details to extinguish hotspots. The Foam when produced is like a shaving cream solution and is able to fill voids in walls as well as soak in to piles of debris for extinguishment better than plain water.

This trucks structural firefighting duties were replaced by Foam 42-3 in 2009 but the membership decided instead of selling the unit that it best be put to use as a brush/utility truck as well as a back up to assist the new truck being that they are the only two vehicles in our area equipped with four wheel drive and able to handle structural fires that may be inaccessible to the larger fire engines. This unit responds to brush fires, trees down, and other miscellaneous calls.
